Interior Design in Dubai for Indian Families

Dubai is home to one of the world's largest Indian expat communities. Many families who've lived in Dubai for years — or decades — have realised that the furnished or semi-furnished apartment they moved into no longer reflects who they are or how they actually live.

The brief we hear most often from Indian clients in Dubai:

*"It looks like a hotel room. We want it to feel like a home."*

What Indian Families in Dubai Actually Want

The typical Indian family in Dubai has specific, considered tastes shaped by living across two cultures:

Warmth without being "Indian" — They're not looking for traditional Indian décor with brass elephants and Rajasthani prints. They want warmth, richness, and depth — expressed through contemporary design language.

Storage that actually works — Dubai apartments are often generously sized but poorly thought out for a family that's been there for years and has accumulated life. Smart, custom storage is always a priority.

A kitchen that works for Indian cooking — This is consistent across every Indian household we've worked with in Dubai. The standard western modular kitchen — designed for light cooking and dishwashers — doesn't suit a family that makes roti, dal, and biryani regularly. The ventilation, counter space, and layout need to be rethought.

A home that photographs well — Dubai is a social city. Hosting is a significant part of life. The home needs to work as a backdrop for a life lived publicly and photographed frequently.

How We Work With NRI Clients in Dubai

We've completed several projects in Dubai — including residential projects in Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, and The Valley. Here's how our remote process works:

1. Video consultation

We start with a detailed video call — understanding the flat, the family, the lifestyle, and the brief. We'll ask you to share floor plans, photos of every room, and references that excite you.

2. 3D design package

We produce photorealistic renders of your space — every key room — so you can see exactly what the result will look like before any work is committed. All decisions happen at the render stage. Changes in a render take hours. Changes during execution take weeks and cost lakhs.

3. Material and furniture sourcing

Dubai has excellent access to European and Italian furniture brands — B&B Italia, Minotti, Poliform — at comparable or better pricing than India. We advise on sourcing based on your budget and timeline.

4. Execution coordination

We work with trusted contractors in Dubai who execute to our drawings and specifications. We conduct regular virtual site reviews and travel to Dubai for key milestone checks on longer projects.

Projects We've Completed in Dubai

We've worked in Arabian Ranches (Villa renovation — living areas, kitchen, and master suite), Dubai Hills (Maple 61 — complete 4-bedroom villa interior), and The Valley (complete show-home quality interior for a new villa). These projects span the warm residential style that characterises our work — rich materials, warm palettes, custom joinery.

What Dubai Projects Typically Cost

Dubai interior projects generally align with Indian Tier 3 pricing for materials, but with higher contractor rates:

  • Apartment, full interior (2–3 BR): AED 180,000 – AED 380,000 (₹40L – ₹85L)
  • Villa, full interior (4–5 BR): AED 350,000 – AED 850,000 (₹75L – ₹1.9Cr)
  • 3D design package only (no execution): AED 25,000 – AED 55,000
